About
Since our inception in March 1995, the Garden of Prayer Youth Center (GOPYC) has been dedicated to transforming lives and nurturing futures. As a faith-based, non-profit organization, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for children and families in need.
Licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services and guided by a passionate Board of Directors, GOPYC offers a comprehensive range of services designed to strengthen and support our community. We provide group home and residential services to ensure a safe haven for children and youth in need. In addition, our emergency and specialized foster care services offer urgent and tailored care for children in crisis.
To support mental health and emotional well-being, we offer individual and family counseling, along with family advocacy and support services that empower families with the resources and assistance they need. Our early childhood education services lay a strong foundation for our youngest members, while our mentoring and tutoring programs guide and encourage academic and personal growth.
At GOPYC, we believe in nurturing both the minds and hearts of our youth. Our after-school recreation programs offer children a fun and safe space to engage in activities, make friends, and build lasting memories. We also focus on life skills training, helping our youth gain the essential skills needed for independent living. Moreover, our job readiness training is designed to prepare individuals for the workforce, setting them up for future success.
Our ultimate goal is "Keeping Families Together." We believe that strong, supported families are the cornerstone of a thriving community.
